This Week’s Results (overall record):
December 18, 2025: Wizards 94, Spurs 119 (4-21)
December 20, 2025: Wizards 130, Grizzlies 122 (5-21)
December 21, 2025: Spurs 124, Wizards 113 (5-22)
Happy Festivus! The Wizards sandwiched a road win between two beatdowns by the Spurs. Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr led the comeback effort in the third quarter against Memphis to help the Wizards pick up their fifth win of the season. It was a Festivus Miracle.
The Airing of Greivences
The Wizards' defense continues to be pitiful, surrendering an average of 121.6 points per game this week. Even in their victory, they allowed 122 to a terrible Grizzlies team without their idiot-in-chief Ja Morant suiting up. Bilal Coulibaly's frequent absences due to a litany of injuries continue to negatively affect this team, and the Wiz are going to need others to step up if they want to play anything resembling competitive defense.
The Feats of Strength
Washington's shooting has been a pleasant surprise, with Bub and Kyshawn shooting at a much higher clip than their rookie seasons from beyond the arc. Throw in a nice stretch from rookie Tre Johnson and you can see an offensive foundation forming for the young Wizards. Every key player in this youth movement would greatly benefit from a true point guard on the roster, and hopefully that's where the Wizards decide to go on draft day.
Up Next
The Wiz have a busy week ahead of them, playing in Charlotte tonight before playing three home games in four nights against the Raptors, Grizzlies, and Suns. All of those games are winnable, so let's see if we can get a 2-2 week going for the Christmas vibes!
See ya next Tuesday.
