We’re back again for another year of embarrassing ourselves as we try to foresee who the 32 starting NFL quarterbacks will be in Week 1 when the 2023 regular season kicks off this September.
We’re just weeks removed from the conclusion of the 2022 season and offseason activity has only just begun. While some players have already been cut from their teams, others are still waiting to learn their fate. With free agency and the draft yet to occur, there are serious question marks surrounding the QB position for roughly half of the NFL’s 32 franchises.
As we’ve done in the past, to separate ourselves from the experts you can find making predictions about who will start for each team next season, we use confidence points in making our picks.
If you see a 32 next to a name in one of our columns, it indicates that column’s host is 100% certain that player will be starting in Week 1. Each number from 32 down to 1 must be used exactly once by each host.
As such, a perfect score is 528. In 2021, Evan got 23 of 32 picks correct and led the way with 464 points. Cory finished second with 460 points and 22 correct predictions and Eric finished last with 439 points and 20 of 32 correct.
Last year, Cory and Evan each got 22 correct while Eric got 21 of his 32 picks right, but the points worked out so that Cory finished first with 441 points, Eric second with 426, and Evan last with 422.
So, through two seasons of making these predictions, Cory has 901 points, Evan has 886 points, and Eric has 865 points. Let’s see how our hosts do in 2023!
