Shoutout to the top performers of Week 14! Burger223* won as the only entrant with 10 correct picks.
This year we are hosting our pick'em contest on Sleeper, and just because you missed the first three weeks doesn't mean you can't still join and try to catch the pack.
Let's get to our concensus misses and lone wolf picks from Week 15.
*If you want to be shouted out by name, be sure to let us know who you are!
This week featured six games where the three of us were in agreement and went down with the ship together. Those games were:
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6.5) - All three Sportsballers laid the points, betting on the Bucs to finally get right now that their wide receiver room is back together. Mike Evans had a terrific comeback, but Kyle Pitts had the greatest tight end game of all-time and helped the Falcons win it at the gun.
Pool results: 25% took ATL
Cleveland Browns at Chicago Bears (-7.5) - All three Sportsballers took the points, but the Bears routed the Browns with a 31-3 home win.
Pool results: 50% took CHI
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals - All three Sportsballers took the points in a game between two starting quarterbacks who have never lost in December. Something had to give and it was Joe Burrow and the Bengals who took a 24-0 drubbing at the hands of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Pool results: 23% took BAL
Indianapolis Colts at Seattle Seahawks (-13.5) - All three Sportsballers laid the points, nearly two whole touchdowns worth of them, but Philip Rivers threw a touchdown pass and the Colts defense held Seattle to six Jason Myers field goals in an 18-16 Seattle win.
Pool results: 46% took IND
Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams (-5.5) - All three Sportsballers took the points in one of the most intriguing matchups of this regular season. The Lions led at halftime and gave themselves a chance late after the Rams took control, but LA won by a touchdown to cover.
Pool results: 46% took LAR
Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys (-6.5) - All three Sportsballers laid the points, but the Cowboys found a way to lose to the Vikings, all but ending their hopes of making the post.
Pool results: 30% took MIN
We also had several games where one of us went off the beaten path. Here are those games and whether our lone wolf got the kill or unexpectedly found himself as the prey:
Arizona Cardinals at Houston Texans (-9.5) - Evan was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the points. It was a steep line but the Texans had little trouble with the Cardinals, doubling them by in a 40-20 victory.
Pool results: 69% took HOU
New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars (-11.5) - Evan was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the points. Like their AFC South rivals, the Jags had no trouble laying the hammer on an inferior opponent. Trevor Lawrence three five touchdown passes and added another on the ground in a 48-20 rout.
Pool results: 58% took JAC
Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) - Evan was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the points. This time it didn't work out as the Chiefs ultimately lost the game and are eliminated from the playoffs.
Pool results: 88% took LAC
Buffalo Bills (-1.5) at New England Patriots - Eric was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the point and a half on the road team. The Patriots had a commanding halftime lead but Dawson Knox and James Cook took over in the second half, negating two 50+ yard touchdown runs by TreVeyon Henderson in a 35-31 victory to keep their 6-peat division hopes alive.
Pool results: 42% took BUF
Washington Commanders at New York Giants (-2.5) - Evan was the lone member of the Sportsballers to take the points. A second half comeback attempt by the Giants fell well short of the win, let along a successful cover.
Pool results: 40% took WAS
Las Vegas Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles (-12.5) - Cory was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the points on the defending Super Bowl champions. A 31-0 demolition derby proved him right to show some faith.
Pool results: 72% took PHI
Carolina Panthers (-2.5) at New Orleans Saints - Cory was the lone member of the Sportsballers to lay the points. This one didn't work out, though, as the Saints surprised the Panthers and helped keep the Bucs atop the NFC South.
Pool results: 23% took NO
Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers (-12.5) - Evan was the lone member of the Sportsballers to take the points. It very nearly worked out for him as the Titans ultimately lost by 13, just a point shy of covering.
Pool results: 62% took SF
