Life has not slowed down for me in the past year. If anything, I feel even busier now than I did at this time last year, which I did not imagine would be the case.
I've put quite a bit of work this offseason into building out our league's history on League Legacy. They have a mobile app now, too, with an android version in testing, and all you have to do to access our league's history is create an account with the same email address you use for FleaFlicker and you will have free access.
The biggest difference this year compared to last year in these writeups is that I have added a 'Luck' column to the power rankings chart. This displays your wins above or below expectation based on breakdown and Top 6 performances.
Without further ado, let's jump into the first recap of our league's 13th season!
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 5-4
For the fifth time in AFL history, and the first time since 2023, the game of the week featured the two lowest scoring teams in the league. Who would have guessed it would come in Week 1, when the game of the week features the defending champion and the manager he beat in the Sabol Bowl?!
Â
That’s just what happened here. Sean’s squad featured the game’s high scorer as Breece Hall went for 145 all-purpose yards. Too bad for him, the reigning league champ had two more double digit performances in his lineup, allowing Stephen to sneak away with a victory by less than 5 points despite his Burrow/Chase stack combining for less than 12 points.
All-time H2H: Will leads series 9-7
All-time H2H: Alex K leads series 4-3
All-time H2H: Brandon leads series 9-6
All-time H2H: Anthony leads series 8-7
All-time H2H: Jeffery leads series 2-1
Free Agent All-Stars vs Tom Brady Award Winner
Every week, we take the best possible lineup made of players who were available on waivers in the AFL at the end of the week and compare it to the top scoring team of the week in our league. Included percentages for the Free Agent All-Star players represent the percentage of FleaFlicker leagues in which each the player was rostered as of data gathering (usually Tuesday morning).
Final Score:
Free Agent All-Stars – 147.64
William Battle – 139.58
YTD Tom Brady Award Winner Record: 0-1
IR Report
In our league, any player can be placed on IR regardless of injury designation. Once on IR, the player cannot be moved, dropped, or traded for a minimum of three weeks. New this year, however, players without an injury designation at their time of placement must remain on IR for two additional weeks.
After Week 1, IR placements are retroactive to the prior week as long as the player was already on the team's roster but was not in the starting lineup during that prior week. This means those players will be eligible to come off IR after just a two-week stay (or four weeks if they did not have an injury designation when they were placed on IR).
