This was our final week of interdivisional play for the 2018 regular season. We end every season with three weeks in which each team plays all three of their division rivals as we sort out playoff spots and seeding.
We had a wild end to that part of our schedule. The Rams and Chiefs played in a Wild West shootout on Monday Night Football. It was the first time in NFL history that a team scored 50 points and lost.
All that scoring made for some crazy finishes to our Week 11 fantasy matchups.
Eric trailed Danny by 41.8 points entering Monday’s game. He wound up winning by 20.4 thanks to his two Monday night players, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill. It would have been, without a doubt, the biggest Monday night comeback in our league’s history.
Anthony just had to go and one-up him, though. He trailed his matchup against Brandon by 55.9 points with Jared Goff, Sammy Watkins, and the Rams defense. Watkins made up 0.9 points of the deficit all on his own and the rest was light work for Goff and his defense as he finished with a 6.7-point margin of victory.
William Battle had a much more manageable deficit to overcome. He trailed Cory by 30.2 points with Todd Gurley and Robert Woods left to go. The two had combined for at least 30.3 points in eight of this season’s previous ten weeks. Gurley had scored at least 30.3 points by himself four times. It was not to be this time, however, as William closed the gap significantly but ultimately lost by 2.9 points in the game of the week.
We had six players join the top 40 single-game performances at their positions this week, and four of them played in that Monday night contest.
Patrick Mahomes scored 38.4 points for Adam, tied for the 13th most points in a game by a quarterback in our league’s history. Jared Goff’s 36.7-point performance for Anthony ties him for 23rd on that list.
Tyreek Hill scored 38.5 points and Travis Kelce scored 23.7 points for Eric, good for a tie for 7th on the wide receiver list and 39th on the tight end list, respectively.
Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley gave William Battle 36.9 points in his loss, good for 19th on the running back list, and T.Y. Hilton gave Will Massimini 32.0 points in hisloss, good for 36th on the wide receiver list.
Sean led the league in scoring for the first time since Week 10 of the 2016 season. He had a nearly identical point total to his performance last week when he was second in scoring. His 162.1 points is the 8th highest single-game point total in league history
Stephen, meanwhile, is 19th on that list with 156.8 points this week. That’s just 1.8 points fewer than he scored last week as he’s on a hot streak of his own!
After leading the league last week and posting the highest total ever seen in a regular season game in our league, Adam had another nice week with 143.8 points, good for 45th on the single-game team scoring list. Eric’s 139.3 points gives him possession of 62nd on that list.
In all, our twelve teams scored 1474.2 points, the second most in league history. Our winners averaged 138.3 points, the second highest average ever, behind only last week’s average winning score.
Our defensive coach of the week is Anthony, who earned 25 points from the Rams defense despite them losing all ten possible points from limiting their opponents’ scoring.
Cory and Adam share this week’s kicker coach of the week recognition. Cory earned 12 points from Saints kicker Wil Lutz, who gave Cory kicker coach of the week honors last week, while Adam earned 12 points from Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein. He could have had 13 points but missed an early extra point.
With just three weeks left to play, Will Massimini is closing in on 200 points earned from the defensive position. He leads the league with 186 points from that starter role, almost an even hundred points ahead of Adam, who brings up the rear with 87 points.
Andrew, Evan, and Adam are currently the only owners with fewer than 100 points from defensive streaming. I had to double-check that for Evan because he’s been streaming the Ravens defense, but they have just 16 points in their last five games and he only earned one point from the Jets during Baltimore’s bye week.
On the other hand, Adam is the only owner who has reached triple digits from the kicker position. He leads the league with 105 points from kickers while Eric has earned just 57 points from the position to date.
Danny was our only unlucky owner this week. He was fifth in scoring this week but lost to Eric, who was fourth. Cory was the benefactor of some good luck as he was seventh in scoring but beat William who was eighth.
Not too much has changed on the WAE and WBE leaderboards. Brandon and Evan are still the two luckiest teams at 1.82 and 1.36 wins above expected, respectively. Cory did move up from fifth to third as he now has 1.27 wins above expected.
Will Massimini, Danny, and Anthony are still our top three in wins below expected, though Danny did move up to second and Anthony moved down to third.
Our top coach this week was Anthony, who earned 14.0 points and a win with a successful coaching risk. He started Larry Fitzgerald instead of Marquez Valdes-Scantling. This coaching win nullifies the game he cost his team back in Week 5.
The league’s worst coach this week was Evan, who cost his team 6.7 points with one failed coaching risk, starting Mohamed Sanu instead of Doug Baldwin. Evan was the only owner who cost his team points from coaching decisions this week.
Stephen is the third owner this year to have four players among the top five scorers at their positions in a single week. Adam and Sean had three such players each and three other owners had two each. Evan was the only owner this week without a single player among the top five at his position.

Game of the Week: Cory Puffett at William Battle
Cory held a 30.2-point lead entering Monday Night football. In ten games this season, Todd Gurley and Robert Woods had combined for 30.1 points or fewer just twice. That is exactly what Cory needed to hold on for a win against William. Despite the Rams scoring more than 50 points in the third highest scoring game in NFL history, they managed just one touchdown and fell short of the comeback.
