The playoffs are here! Four teams remain in contention for the 2014 AFL Championship. The other eight teams will have to wait until 2015 to again begin their title quests.
Let’s start off this week’s post with the weekly recap.
Check out the review of Week 13 below (team names have been changed to the names of their owners):
Game of the Week: Cory Puffett at Sean Kennedy
Cory finishes as the only team with double-digit victories in the 2014 regular season and, with Eric falling this week, enters the playoffs with the longest active winning streak in the league at four games.
Conference Championship Previews
Sean Kennedy (7-6) vs Eric Meyer (8-5)
After starting 0-2, the Eric won 8 of 10 games. Their loss in Week 13 snapped a 6-game winning streak as he finished the week in the bottom quarter of the league in scoring. Eric will look to bounce back against Sean, who had a 4-game win streak earlier in the season and beat Eric 98.5-64.0 in their week 2 meeting.
Danny Hatcher (9-4) at Cory Puffett (10-3)
Cory enters the playoffs with four straight wins, the longest active streak in the AFL. Danny hopes to end that streak and earn his fourth straight victory in a rematch from week 6, when he beat Cory 117.6-76.8. That game marked one of just three times all season Cory failed to score triple digits.
