It's Opening Day!!
Welcome back to baseball for the start of the 2024 season. Every year we make preseason predictions on our podcast but we've never taken the time to publish our picks on our website or our old blog so that we and our listeners can keep us accountable.
Well we're doing just that this year. So, as we prepare for the first pitch of the regular season on American soil at approximately 3:05 p.m., when the Angels and Orioles take the field at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, let's run through all the predictions we made on Episode 276 of our podcast.

I feel pretty strongly that the Braves are the best team in baseball. They have the best offensive weapon in baseball and arguably the best pitcher; I had a lot less trouble picking Strider for NL Cy Young than I did combing through the candidates on the American League side.
While I really like the Orioles this year and I think their offense is going to be fantastic, I worry about how consistent their starters will be behind Burnes. The Braves have a better starting rotation and I think their bullpen can hold up fine against Baltimore's. As for Atlanta's offense, on the whole I think they and Baltimore are on similar levels, but I think the Braves' top three bats are still better than those of the Orioles. I give the O's a second win as a nod of respect for what they're doing in Baltimore, but in truth I think the Braves ought to be able to end this series in five.
