Only one of this week's players of the week has been on this list before in 2026. Matt Olson has had a great start to the campaign; he's already racked up three Paul Goldschmidt Awards and now has been a player of the week 19 times in his career, the most among this week's honorees.
After a career year in 2025 in which he earned nine Mike Piazza Awards, Cal Raleigh finally got his first of 2026.
Ozzie Albies and Alex Bregman each led their respective positions for the first time this year and for the 10th times in their career.
Riley Greene now has been a player of the week twice in his career, but this is his first Mike Trout Award in the AOA; his other award was at UTIL.
Kevin McGonigle, Josh Naylor, and Tyler Glasnow each earned their first career player of the week honors in the AOA. Naylor managed to earn his award with only five games played due to quad tightness forcing him to miss Sunday's contest.
All-time H2H: Series tied 3-3
In a game that was deceptively close, Cory Frontin pulled into a tie atop the AOA West with the win over division rival Stephen April.
We discovered a quirk regarding Shohei Ohtani’s usage, which is that when he remains in a starting pitcher spot in the lineup despite not pitching, he still counts against pitcher games if he plays for the Dodgers as a hitter. For that reason, Cory missed out on points from two of his three pitchers who started on Saturday, finishing the week with five pitcher starts despite having eight of them in his lineup.
It was only for that reason Stephen held an 8-point pitching advantage over Cory, though it still wasn’t enough to erase the 14-point edge Cory had on offense.
Stephen's top scorer: Paul Skenes, 12.75 points (1 start)
Cory's top scorer: Shohei Ohtani, 15.95 points (1 start & 3 games)
All-time H2H: Rich leads series 4-2
Rich's top scorer: James Wood, 11.75 points (7 games)
Sam's top scorer: Tyler Glasnow, 13.95 points (1 start)
All-time H2H: Cory leads series 10-4
Eric's top scorer: Nolan McLean, 12.85 points (2 starts)
Cory's top scorer: Max Fried, 13.20 points (1 start)
All-time H2H: Series tied 7-7
Sean's top scorer: Ozzie Albies, 8.40 points (7 games)
Alex's top scorer: Matt Olson, 11.65 points (7 games)
Cory Puffett held onto the #1 power ranking for the 54th time in his career. A quarter of the way through the season and he's the only manager who has been in that spot, but Rich is right on his tail now.
Eric Meyer and Alex Mayo finally get a break from their see-saw on the bottom as a dreadful week and back-to-back John Gochnaur Awards for Sean Kennedy have him in the bottom spot for the 23rd time in his career, the second most among AOA managers all-time.
