After having no repeats among last week's players of the week, we had three Week 2 winners remain at the top of their positional charts in Week 2 - Ben Rice, Matt Olson, and Gunnar Henderson.
Olson and Henderson earned player of the week recognition for the 18th and 9th times, respectively. Jose Ramirez earned his first honors of the 2026 season and his 19th of his AOA career.
All-time H2H: Sam leads series 10-2
Sam had quite a week, exactly the kind he was hoping for entering this matchup against the defending Rickey Henderson Award winner.
His pitching was strong; Tyler Glasnow and Tarik Skubal had rough outings, but Skubal bounced back on Sunday and Sam’s bullpen was lights-out.
Perhaps even more impressive was the advantage Sam held from his offense. Despite only tallying one more XBH compared to Cory for the week and only three more hits in total, Sam’s hitters outpaces Cory’s by nearly 10 points, led in part by Brice Turang’s outstanding 5.65-point outing Sunday afternoon.
Sam's top scorer: Kris Bubic, 12.90 points (1 start)
Cory's top scorer: Shohei Ohtani, 12.45 points (1 start + 2 games)
All-time H2H: Rich leads series 5-3
Sean's top scorer: Joe Ryan, 16.75 points (2 starts)
Rich's top scorer: Ranger Suarez, 10.95 points (1 start)
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 7-1
Eric's top scorer: Jacob deGrom, 15.20 points (2 starts)
Stephen's top scorer: Gunnar Henderson, 12.20 points (6 games)
All-time H2H: Cory leads series 10-2
Alex's top scorer: Matt Olson, 9.65 points (6 games)
Stephen's top scorer: Sandy Alcantara, 11.20 points (2 starts)
