All-time H2H: Series tied 4-4
With the pair of DeMatha head coaches from the Class of 2010 playing to a near-perfect deadlock on offense (Rich’s Dredgers has a quarter of a point over Cory’s Fireflies), this first divisional matchup of the year came down to their pitching staffs.
Both squads maxed out their allotted starts and the Dredgers had one additional relief appearance over the Fireflies, but Cory’s staff put up slightly better numbers, including four fewer doubles allowed, one fewer triple allowed, and two fewer home runs allowed across an extra four innings of work.
It was enough for a relatively comfortable win and a perfect 2-0 start to the commissioner’s campaign in a division featuring three playoff teams from a year ago.

Sam's top scorer: Mason Miller, 14.05 points (3 relief appearances)
