Eric Meyer and Sean Kennedy were both eliminated from playoff contention with their losses in Week 15, joining Alex Mayo and leaving five managers battling for the AOA's four playoff spots.
One of those spots has been locked up by Rich Blorstad. Cory Puffett can join him this week with a win over Cory Frontin or if Rich comes out victorious against Stephen April in the game of the week.
Players of the Week
Catcher - Hunter Goodman, 8.95 points (Sam Martin)
1st Baseman - Rafael Devers, 11.80 points (Sean Kennedy)
2nd Baseman - Otto Lopez, 15.90 points (Rich Blorstad)
3rd Baseman - Junior Caminero, 9.55 points (Sean Kennedy)
Shortstop - Zach Neto, 8.35 points (Sean Kennedy)
OF - James Wood, 14.20 points (Rich Blorstad)
UTIL - Manny Machado, 10.75 points (Sean Kennedy)
SP - Nolan McLean, 20.30 points (Eric Meyer)
RP - Kevin Kelly, 10.05 points (Stephen April)
Otto Lopez repeated as the Ryne Sandberg Award winner, more than doubling his total from last week when he earned his first career player of the week award. He racked up 8 extra base hits this week!
Only Junior Caminero has been hotter of late as he reached 11 home runs over the course of 11 games after Saturday's contest. He came back to earth, scoring less than half of his Week 14 total, but he still led the third base field by more than a point and a half.
Junior Caminero had an historic week, smashing 7 home runs and finishing with nearly three more points than any position player has managed in a week so far this season. In fact, it bested any single week from the 2025 season by a non-pitcher, too!
Both our pitchers, Nolan McLean and Kevin Kelly, earned their first career player of the week honors! McLean was our first 20-point scorer since Logan Webb in Week 12.
Remarkably, six of our nine players of the week came from AOA teams that lost in Week 15.
All-time H2H: Cory leads series 4-1
After Cory took control of the match on Monday, the two former housemates traded punches until Stephen threw a haymaker on Friday with Dylan Cease and Kevin Kelly doing much of the damage.
Fortunately for Cory, Sandy Alcantara and Josh Hader were waiting in the wings to respond on Saturday, returning the favor and putting the Fireflies right back into the lead.
Though Cory would have done better to replace all of his starting SPs and RPs with those on his bench Sunday, his lineup held serve to hold the lead to the finish line.
Stephen's top scorer: Dylan Cease, 12.45 points (1 start)
Cory's top scorer: Sandy Alcantara, 16.15 points (2 starts)
All-time H2H: Rich leads series 4-1
Alex's top scorer: George Kirby, 11.15 points (1 start)
Rich's top scorer: Otto Lopez, 15.90 points (6 games)
All-time H2H: Sam leads series 11-3
Sam's top scorer: Braxton Ashcraft, 11.35 points (2 starts)
Sean's top scorer: Joe Ryan, 12.50 points (2 starts)
All-time H2H: Eric leads series 8-7-2
Eric's top scorer: Nolan McLean, 20.30 points (2 starts)
Cory's top scorer: Yordan Alvarez, 12.75 points (6 games)
Rich Blorstad remains atop the power rankings this week. It is his 22nd #1 ranking in his career.
Alex Mayo has now been at the bottom of the power rankings for ten weeks in a row. His power score has sat at 0.0 for eight straight weeks. This is his 24th career appearance at the bottom of the power rankings, passing Sean Kennedy for the second most in league history.
