Xavier Edwards made it three weeks in a row as the Ryne Sandberg Award winner, joining three other players from Cory Puffett's roster in claiming Player of the Week honors.
Jonathan Aranda won the first of his career while Murakami won his third of the past four weeks. It'll be a while before he has another chance as he's expected to miss 4-6 weeks on the IL. Acuna, meanwhile, claimed his 7th career Player of the Week Award, but just his second since 2023.
Ben Rice earned his first Mike Piazza Award since winning three in a row starting in Week 2 while teammate Jacob Misorowski earned the first Bobby Witt Award of his career.
Colson Montgomery, Bryan Reynolds, and Gregory Soto were all first-time Players of the Week in Week 10.
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 4-3
An incredibly close game worth the Game of the Week billing until Friday, Cory finally took control of his matchup for good with a pair of gems by Bryce Elder and Kevin Gausman.
After leaving Corbin Carroll out of his lineup for much of Week 8 and paying the price in a narrow loss, Cory returned the Diamondbacks outfielder to everyday status and the all-star turned in the top point total amongst the Trowels offensive players thanks in part to four triples on the week!
With Ivan Herrera and CJ Abrams, who combined to hit more home runs than Sam’s entire Lowlanders squad, joining Carroll, Friday’s starters and three other pitchers who turned in quality starts, it’s a wonder Cory barely managed a double-digit margin of victory in this one.
