Cory Puffett became the 31st manager in AOA history to take home both the Manny Ramirez Award and Rickey Henderson Award in the same week, leading the league in scoring while securing a crucial victory in the game of the week.
Of more interest from a league history standpoint, though, was Eric's narrow victory against Alex. Back in Week 4, in their first matchup of the season, Eric and Alex appeared to be deadlocked, but an early-week stat correction gave Eric the victory by 0.60 points. Now, he's won each of hist first two games against Alex this season by a combined 1.45 points!
In both matchups, Ryan Walker delivered the death blow to Alex's squad. The only problem is, Walker plays for Alex's team! Back on April 20, the final day of that Week 4 contest, Walker gave up 4 earned runs and recorded only one out, blowing a save and taking a loss to score -5.80 points in that narrow loss. Yesterday, to cap off Week 7, Walker gave up just one earned run while recording two outs, but once again blew a save and took the loss, costing Alex's team 4.10 points.
Players of the Week

1st Baseman - Freddie Freeman, 16.20 points (Rich Blorstad)
2nd Baseman - Luis Urias, 4.30 points (Rich Blorstad)

UTIL - Shohei Ohtani, 16.70 points (Sam Martin)
SP - Zack Wheeler, 23.45 points (Stephen April)
RP - Tanner Scott, 10.50 points (Stephen April)
Freddie Freeman had a massive week, scoring north of 16 points in an impressive outburst, capturing his first Paul Goldschmidt Award since claiming the prize in the 2025 season opener.
Francisco Lindor earned his second Barry Larkin Award of the campaign, after first capturing the honor in Week 5.
Aaron Judge continues to impress. His batting average is over .400 on the year and he's now won three Mike Trout Awards this season, including each of the last two.
Shohei Ohtani has also won the last two Hal McRae Awards as he is hitting his stride, no pun intended.
Stephen April became the first manager of the year to claim both Pitcher of the Week Awards. Wheeler earned his first Bobby Witt Award of the campaign while Tanner Scott earned his second Eric Gagne Award. Stephen has earned three of the last four reliever awards, including last week when Emmanuel Clase brough the award home to the Orange Team.
All-time H2H: Rich leads series 3-2
Considering Rich had two players outscore Cory’s top scorer and adding in his significant advantage across several offensive categories, it was a bit surprising to see the latter’s Fireflies pull away to give Rich’s Dredgers their first loss of the season, and by nearly 30 points!
Cory led the AOA in scoring for the first time since Week 11 of the 2024 season, also a Game of the Week appearance, as his patience with a pitching staff that got off to a slow start this year seems to be paying off. It was his team’s work on the mound that allowed him to overcome a 6.5-point offensive deficit to Rich’s squad.
Cory's top scorer: Tarik Skubal, 12.85 points (1 start)
Rich's top scorer: Freddie Freeman, 16.20 points (7 games)
All-time H2H: Sean leads series 9-4
Sean's top scorer: Nathan Eovaldi, 22.45 points (2 starts)
Cory's top scorer: Pablo Lopez, 11.35 points (2 starts)
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 3-0
Sam's top scorer: Shohei Ohtani, 16.70 points (7 games)
Stephen's top scorer: Zack Wheeler, 23.45 points (2 starts)
All-time H2H: Alex leads series 6-5
Eric's top scorer: Rafael Devers, 11.65 points (6 games)
Alex's top scorer: Carlos Rodon, 14.15 points (2 starts)
After swapping positions in the middle of the power rankings last week, Cory and Sam swapped right back this week.
Rich earned his 9th career #1 power ranking and sixth of the season.
Cory Frontin, meanwhile, is at the bottom of the power rankings for the 21st time in his career, just one shy of tying Sean Kennedy for the most in AOA history.
