The second half of the 2025 season is officially in full swing. The 19 waiver wire transactions we saw this week are the second most this season only behind the 20 we saw in Week 10. Rich Blorstad alone accounted for 10 of those transactions, with only Cory Puffett accounting for more transactions by a single manager in a week this season when he had 14 of them a week ago.
Let's jump right into this week's recap.
Players of the Week
Catcher - Hunter Goodman, 12.10 points (Cory Puffett)
1st Baseman - Pete Alonso, 18.15 points (Eric Meyer)
2nd Baseman - Ketel Marte, 13.35 points (Stephen April)
3rd Baseman - Manny Machado, 11.20 points (Sean Kennedy)
Shortstop - Bobby Witt, Jr., 8.90 points (Sean Kennedy)
OF - Aaron Judge, 11.85 points (Alex Mayo)
UTIL - Trea Turner, 8.20 points (Cory Frontin)
SP - Paul Skenes, 21.55 points (Eric Meyer)
RP - Robert Suarez, 13.35 points (Sean Kennedy)
Pete Alonso was the only repeat award winner from Week 10. He had a very impressive week for Eric, leading all position players in scoring.
Cory scooped up Hunter Goodman off the waiver wire to open the week, and he was rewarded by a very strong week from the Rockies catcher, as he ended Cal Raleigh's three-week run as the Mike Piazza Award winner.
Aaron Judge earned his fourth Mike Trout Award for Alex this week, while Paul Skenes led all players in scoring for the week to earn his first Bobby Witt Award since Week 12 of his rookie season.
All-time H2H: Series tied 3-3
Rich hit the waiver wire hard this week, and it did not work out in his favor. In Week 10, he failed to reach 80 points for the first time since his four-day Week 1 matchup. This week he eclipsed that mark, but only barely, making this only his second full-week matchup with less than 90 points.
Cory, meanwhile, set a new season-high in points and only missed the league’s highest score of the season by about three points, the difference being a pair of blown saves by his relievers early in the week. Fortunately for him, his starting rotation was lights out, and his offense enjoyed perhaps its best week of the campaign to earn sole possession of first place in the AOA West.
Rich's top scorer: Lance McCullers Jr., 11.25 points (1 start)
Cory's top scorer: Logan Webb, 19.85 points (2 starts)
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 4-1
Alex's top scorer: Freddy peralta, 15.50 points (2 starts)
Stephen's top scorer: Ketel Marte, 13.35 points (5 games)
All-time H2H: Sean leads series 10-4
Cory's top scorer: Tanner Bibee, 15.65 points (2 starts)
Sean's top scorer: Robert Suarez, 13.35 points (3 relief appearances)
All-time H2H: Sam leads series 9-4
Eric's top scorer: Paul Skenes, 21.55 points (2 starts)
Sam's top scorer: Merrill Kelly, 12.75 points (1 start)
Cory has unseated Rich at the top of this week's power rankings, ending a nine-week run for the second-year manager. He's had a steady climb since being ranked sixth after Week 3. This is Cory's AOA-record 40th time leading the league's power rankings, 25 more than any other manager.
Cory Frontin, meanwhile, is at the bottom of the power rankings for the 25th time in his career, extending his own record.
