For the 13th time in Aces Only Association history, and the first time since we've expanded from eight to ten teams, we did not have a single unlucky loss! Cory Frontin had a respectable 112.50-point performance as the highest scoring losing manager, but he ranked just sixth in scoring for Week 3.

All-time H2H: Evan leads series 9-1-1
Evan continues to have Alex's number. He's 4-1 against Alex in fantasy football and now he's 9-1-1 in fantasy baseball.
It certainly didn't help Alex's cause that his team failed to hit a single home run over the 7-day matchup. It's just the second time a team has had no home runs for an AOA game, the other coming in Week 12 of our inaugural 2021 season when Evan's team failed to hit a long ball in a losing effort against Eric.
Evan didn't lead the league in any major stat categories this week, but he didn't need to with Alex bringing up the rear not only in team home runs but also in runs scored, runs batted in, and OPS. The victory gave Evan his 13th career Manny Ramirez Award. He is one of three managers with at least 10 and he is 13-9 when playing in the game of the week.
Alex, meanwhile, has started his career with an unfortunate record of 0-8 when playing for the Manny Ramirez Award.
All-time H2H: Stephen leads series 1-0
Stephen joined Eric, Cory, and Rich this week as the only managers to have won a Rickey Henderson Award during their first three career games. Eric had two of them in his first three weeks in the AOA.
One might think that as one of two expansion teams in the fourth year of the league's operation, with the other expansion team winning this award last week, Stephen is the last manager in the AOA to win the Rickey Henderson Award. But no, Sean Kennedy has yet to have a league-leading scoring week. He'll have a chance to pull a double in Week 4 as he plays in the game of the week against Sam.
For just the second time in league history, we didn't have a single team reach 10 home runs in a 7-day matchup. But Stephen led the AOA with nine dingers in Week 3 while also leading in innings pitched. It was a strong performance for the new comer as he bounced back from suffering an unlucky loss in Week 1 and an 0-2 start to his rookie campaign.
All-time H2H: Cory leads series 7-4
After back-to-back weeks sporting a team ERA over 5.00, this was a much-needed rebound week for Cory's pitching staff, which posted the second best ERA and FIP in the AOA for Week 3.
Eric's pitching staff also enjoyed it's best week of the season thus far in terms of ERA and FIP, but his team's WHIP has increased every week from an already-high mark of 1.364 in Week 1.
Combined with an abysmal .202 team batting average through the matchup, and Eric failed to reach triple figures for the second straight week. It hasn't been a great start to his title defense.
All-time H2H: Rich leads series 1-0
The only manager who's had a worse start to his 2024 campaign than Eric is Andrew. We haven't yet created an equivalent in this league to the AFL's David Carr Award, but if we did, Andrew would have won the first three of them this year as the lowest scorer each week.
Rich, meanwhile, continued his strong start to the season. He's been a Top 3 scorer every week thanks in large part to consistent production from his pitching staff, which is sporting a 3.15 ERA on the season and a WHIP under 1.200.
He'll need to keep his focus on the offensive side, though, as his batting average and OPS have both decreased every week since the season opener, a trend that could make wins harder to come by if he doesn't address it soon.
All-time H2H: Sam leads series 5-2
This was an important win for Sam as he attempted to avoid an 0-3 start. It was a particularly frustrating start to the season since both of Sam's first two losses came as a Top 5 weekly scorer.
This week he stayed in the Top 5, albeit barely, and came away with a win over Sean's previously undefeated Marauders. Sam led the league in team ERA and WHIP, which was just enough down the stretch to overcome Sean's strong hitting week.
Sean led the AOA in batting average and OPS and had a huge advantage over Sem in the latter. The problem was volume. Sean's hitters totalled just 181 plate appearances for the week, the only total under the 200 mark. Sam, meanwhile, was only one shy of the top mark in the league for the week.
Game of the Week: Alex Mayo vs Evan Ash
Tyler Glasnow and Aaron Nola both pitched 8-inning gems in the finale of this matchup between AOA East rivals. Though Glasnow outscored Nola by a point and a half on Sunday, their respective two-start totals for the week gave Nola an 11-point advantage for Evan.
Combine that with Alex’s squad failing to hit a single home run and a 9-inning advantage to Evan in terms of pitching volume and it’s a wonder this matchup didn’t get more out of hand.
